Help TJ Recover and Commute Safely
Donation protected

My name is Kelli, and I’m raising funds for my brother, Terry (TJ) Day, who was the victim of a hit-and-run while riding his bicycle home from work in Portage, Michigan. The accident happened on February 17 near Lovers Lane and Stryker Way, and the driver fled the scene, leaving TJ injured on the road. Luckily, a Good Samaritan witnessed the incident and called 911. https://wwmt.com/news/local/portage-hit-run-bicyclist-search-lovers-lane-stryker-way-bike-mazda-police-kalamazoo-michigan
We are incredibly lucky that TJ survived. His condition is stable, but he is recovering from a bad concussion and other minor injuries. Right now, he is staying with my husband and me while he heals. His goal is to return to work at Walgreens and reunite with his beloved customers within the next few weeks.
TJ has worked as a cashier at Walgreens for over 10 years, always showing up for his community with kindness and dedication. Since he doesn’t have a car, he rides his bike nearly 10 miles round trip—rain, snow, or shine—to make it to work. Unfortunately, this accident has left him with medical bills and no reliably safe way to commute.
We’re raising funds to help cover his medical expenses and, most importantly, get him a car so he can travel safely. Any amount you can give will make a difference in helping TJ get back on his feet.
If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser to spread the word. Thank you for your kindness and support!
