Tragically, my family and I have lost everything—our home, our security, and our livelihood. For 96 harrowing days, we've endured the unimaginable in a desolate zone in South Gaza, grappling with scarcity and the biting cold.

Our reality is stark; we are besieged by hunger and despair. The road to recovery is long, with estimates suggesting a span of seven decades. Time is a luxury we don't have, as our dreams crumble into oblivion.

The cost of a chance at life, of escaping this turmoil, stands at $22,000—a sum that is both our lifeline and our barrier. As we face the threat of invasion, even this refuge in Rafah is slipping away.

My children, once brimming with aspirations, now face a future uncertain. My eldest, poised to heal as a dentist, may never fulfill his calling. My youngest, on the cusp of adulthood, might be robbed of his final school days. My daughters, Lana and Aseel, whose academic pursuits were cut short by the ravages of war, stand to lose their dreams.
