Help to give David his Bike for Life!
Hi My name is Bethan and I’m the Mother to David. David was born with a rare genetic condition called, Glucose Transporter Protein Type 1 Deficiency Syndrome It's a rare genetic condition that impairs brain metabolism. Glucose isn’t transported properly into the brain, which creates energy issues and prevents it from growing, developing, and functioning the way it should.
Alongside this, David suffers from epilepsy, movement disorders, dyskinesia and low muscle tone! David is also non verbal, autistic and has moderate to severe learning difficulties.
We are fund raising to help pay towards the cost of a specialist trike ( in the picture above) to give David the best opportunities in life! To experience freedom with a view to joining a local cycle club! To gain independence as he becomes older!
