Meet Oliver Keith Thompson!
What a precious miracle we have been given! God decided to bless Kaitlyn and Jesse with this amazing bundle of joy really early. Kaitlyn had been having more pain then expected as tests were run they found it was in Kaitlyn's and babies best interest to send her to UVA.
When she arrived at UVA, they ran many test and unfortunately found that Kaitlyn has severe preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome. Kaitlyn was going to have to deliver early in order to keep her and baby Oliver safe.
At 26 weeks she delivered this absolutely amazing little bundle of joy weighing only 1.6lbs. God works in amazing ways and this sure was amazing! Oliver had and has more odds against him but we know he is being held in the best care of God and NICU team at UVA.
Here we are, Oliver is 3 days old now and doing fantastic. He is a active boy, wonder if this is any indication how he will be growing up... OH NO, Mommy and Daddy are in deep trouble!! (hahaha) Kaitlyn was released from the hospital. This is where the hard part starts. They had to leave there little man at the hospital and emotions of just up and leaving him were tremendous!
This journey has been a long and hard one but it is not over and won't be for quite a longtime. Oliver will need to be in the NICU until possibly his normal due date which is August 14, 2024. Kaitlyn and Jesse have looked into places close to UVA since them living in Shenandoah is further than they would like to be away from him. We are realizing in these next few months there will be lots of traveling and plenty of times they need food, gas and accommodations. If anyone knows of any places, Airbnb, hotels or even rentals that would give a discount to stay or a campground that would help them that would also be appreciated.
I feel this is the strongest & greatest young couple and this experience will just make them even stronger! Let's see if we can take some burden off their shoulder while they are getting through this rough time. Oliver is in great hands but Mommy and Daddy have a rough road ahead. I couldn't imagine leaving my little boy but they are strong and they will get through this and I believe this whole experience will grow their little family a strong bond!
Let's get their story out to as many people as possible. Share and share again so we can get Kaitlyn and Jesse through this time with the least amount of stress possible!
Thank you for all the love, support and continue all the prayers. God is Good. This little family is going to be watched over!
