Help Luigi Overcome the Medical Bills for Two Surgeries

This summer was a complicated one for me. I had two surgeries back in June and July.

First, I had to be treated for acute pain caused by gallstones, pancreatitis, and an inflamed liver. I had been dealing with this for a long time, but in the past six months, it had gotten progressively worse, severely impacting my daily life. The gallstone pain was excruciating. One night, I couldn’t tolerate it anymore and ended up calling an ambulance to go to the ER.

I had the gallstones removed through an ERCP, and later, I underwent a cholecystectomy to remove my gallbladder. During the process, the doctors discovered that another source of pain I was experiencing was due to an umbilical hernia, which I developed while working in a warehouse last year.

Fortunately, I had health insurance, and after months of back and forward, they reduced the almost $100,000 bill to $4,500. I was very underpaid at the warehouse, so I quit because of the health issues I was facing. Since then, I've been doing some photography gigs, but I’ve barely managed to make ends meet for most of the year. This new debt has added to my existing financial burdens. Fortunately, so far my health has been improving and I recently started a new full-time job, so there is some light at the end of the tunnel.
