Help to Prevent and Control HIV in KENYA

On behalf of the Hope Adongo School in Kenya, East Africa, we hope to raise capital that will enable them to continue their fight against HIV in the region. We aim to provide sanitary pads, toiletries, undergarments, school supplies, food, and body lotion to orphaned young schoolgirls who are impacted by HIV and come from the most vulnerable and underprivileged backgrounds. We think that by doing this, we are empowering the girls not only for future independence but also for protection against STIs, HIV, and other illnesses, as well as early marriage and pregnancy.

In general, donations will give girls access to education, resources, and hygiene products. However, as the Hope Adongo School strives for self-sufficiency, they intend to also use donations to obtain land and equipment, allowing them to cultivate their own food rather than relying only on donations. So, a portion of the financial donation will also go toward buying farmland, which will enable the school to become more independent.

‘We intend to aquire 3/4 0f an acre of land to produce own food for the orphans. That will cost approximately 70 percent of the raised money. 

20 percent of the money will go towards school fees, and 10 percent will go towards  their personal effects such as  toiletries, school uniform and books.’ - ‘Francis Otieno’

Withdrawal Process and how Francis will receive the funds:

The person in need in Kenya that we are supporting is Francis, a close friend of ours. We have known Francis for some time and have been able to see firsthand the challenges he and his community are facing. We trust Francis and know that the funds will be used to make a real difference in the lives of those in need.

Due to the restrictions on GoFundMe transactions to Kenya, we will be withdrawing the funds to our own account and manually transferring them to Francis via PayPal. We will be in close communication with Francis to ensure that the funds are being used for their intended purpose and will provide updates on the progress of the transfer.
