Purchase Transmitter and Equipment for the WVOE

WVOE 1590AM Radio station is the 3rd oldest African American owned and operated radio station in the U.S., and the first east of the Mississippi. Opened in April 1962 in Chadbourn, N.C., we recently celebrated our 59th anniversary. We are struggling to stay on the air, and are desperately in need of this GoFundMe as a means of purchasing a $11,000+ transmitter, tubes, and other equipment update and repair. Our goal is resume broadcasting to our great listening audience, and supporters in northeastern, S.C., and southeastern, N.C. as soon as possible. Had it not been for merchants, businesses, churches, clubs, organizations, and individuals like you - we would have probably been just a memory.
