Support Saxon Lutheran Memorial After Visitor Center Fire

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Dan Prange. I live in St. Louis, MO. For the last couple of years I’ve been associated with a historical memorial grounds called Saxon Lutheran Memorial located in Frohna, MO. The history behind this memorial is in 1839 some of the Saxon Germans coming from Saxony Germany located here and elsewhere in East Perry County, MO. My involvement with this memorial has been helping maintain the grounds, to preserve it for future generations and whatever else is needed. On the evening of Sunday, March 30th, a storm came through and lightning struck a tree near the visitors center catching the tree and the center on fire. Thankfully, no one was there at the time. The center was completely destroyed and all of the historical artifacts inside are also gone.
This memorial is located in a small rural community surrounded by farmland. It was a nearby neighbor in town who noticed a red glow from a distance. By the time the local emergency response firefighters arrived it was totally engulfed in flames.
The funds from this post will help with the initial clean up, planning and rebuilding of a new structure. Please consider donating.
