Help to the victims of an Earthquake in Turkey
Donation protected
On February 6, 2023, two deadly earthquakes of magnitudes 7.7 and 7.6 hit southeast region of
Turkey in only 9 hours apart, affecting nearby countries and many cities where more than 15
million people live.
The impact of the earthquakes has affected cities of Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Gaziantep,
Diyarbakır, Malatya, Osmaniye, Adana, Adıyaman, Urfa, Kilis and Elazığ. There are thousands
of people outside and unfortunately still in rubble waiting for help. Millions had to leave their
homes without proper clothing, food or water in cold weather. In most of the places the
temperature is below freezing, and it is still snowing or raining in many places.
Turkey has declared a Level-4 emergency alert that includes a general call for international help.
Despite the difficult weather conditions, search and rescue teams continue their work in the
region however, the scale of the destruction is more serious than what we can see from media
outlets.
We have received hundreds of messages asking for help for their loved ones. The region is in
urgent need of blankets, tents, food, diapers, clean water, heaters, winter clothes and many more
items since the impact of the earthquakes effected a very large region.
According to the Turkish government agencies, almost 6 thousand buildings were demolished
including hospitals, and thousands of people are injured. The death toll keeps rising.
We call for the international community to provide immediate support for recovery efforts by
raising funds which will be transparently transferred to Ahbap Derneği, AKUT and KURTAR as
well as other active and respected non-governmental organizations in Turkey. Donation updates
will be frequently shared on the campaign page.
Your support is vitally important. Every penny counts and anything helps. Please support us to
help victims of the earthquake.
