Help Todd and Buzz get back on their feet after the wildfire

I wanted to help start a GoFundMe today for Todd Smoyer and Buzz Chatman. Todd and Buzz are both wonderful people and the type of people that you’re lucky to have in your life.

Todd and Buzz both work in the production industry and faced a lot of challenges in the last year due to the strikes and loss of work during those times. Last night they lost their house and all their belongings in the Eaton fire that engulfed their Altadena neighborhood. The house they’ve made into a home, one in which you’d often find their dogs sleeping in a sun spot, where every decoration and item has been thoughtfully placed and collected, the home they come back to after long work days and find peace is now gone.

Todd and I met in college at Florida State and his friendship over the last 17 years has helped shape me into the person I am. He’s been constant encouragement to me and he’s always one of the first people to offer to help or advocate for others. After hearing what he and his fiancé Buzz have gone through in the last 24-48 hours, I just wanted to try to do something to help ease the overwhelming stress of losing your house to a horrible fire.

Let’s come together to support them as they navigate this devastating fire and have to find new housing, safe lodging for them and their pups, new belongings, and deal with the emotional aftermath.

The donations from this gofundme will help them cover unexpected costs to get back on their feet and assist with needs that might not be fully covered by other sources of aid. They have also mentioned they will share funds with neighbors who are needing support as well that is not covered by other sources. <3
