I am setting up this go fund me page to help Todd McClain with medications, medical care and living expenses.
Anyone who knows or has met Todd, is aware he is a very kind and caring person. He'd give you the shirt off his back if you needed one.
On December 1st he tested positive for COVID-19. In Todd's case, this was exceptionally bad news. Todd is a retired firefighter who suffered a lung burn injury 10 years ago when his mask failed while inside a burning building. Another example of Todd putting others before himself. He had spent his life in service to others through professional firefighting and EMT services prior to the burn injuries. Below is a link to a story on that fire:

Todd's COVID-19 infection turned life threatening very quickly, affecting what was left of his lungs. When admitted to the hospital, he was suffering from double lung pneumonia, diabetic DKA, congestive heart failure, and fluid in his legs and lungs.
He spent 28 days in the hospital, just enough for his oxygen levels to begin to stabilize. He is still very sick and requires someone to be with him around the clock. He was discharged from the hospital on January 7th with 15 new medications, none of which insurance will cover. Just 2 of his new medications cost over $1100 per month. Todd requires continual oxygen as well as nebulizer treatments. He continues to experience severe shortness of breath, fluid on his legs and lungs, congestive heart failure as well as requiring around the clock oxygen.
Every day continues to be a struggle for him as he tries to simply walk or talk. Anything you could donate to assist him on his journey to recovery would be greatly appreciated. Let's help this man that has devoted his life to helping others! Thank you.
