Help the Tofte Family Devastated by OR Fire
Donation protected
First of all, thank you all for being here. On Tuesday, September 8th, 2020, Angie, her son Wyatt and her mother, Peggy (all pictured) woke up to a nightmare - a raging and uncontrollable fire had descended upon their home in Lyons, OR causing them to flea immediately. They tried to evacuate by vehicle but both cars had been left inoperable by the blaze. Angie tried furiously to help her mother who was disabled and had difficulty walking without assistance. Unfortunately, she was unable to get her to safety before Peggy lost her life. Angie's son, Wyatt (13 years old) and their dog ran to escape the flames but were not able to make it. Sadly, search and rescue found Wyatt's body on the afternoon of September 9th, 2020. Angie was found on the morning of September 8th by her husband Chris who was returning to the home after being stopped at a blockade for several hours and eventually blowing past it to get to his family. He found Angie in the road, unable to walk, after suffering significant burns. She is currently in critical condition at Legacy Emanuel in Portland.
Angie will need significant medical treatment in order to recover from the severity of her burns. Her expected recovery time is 6-12+ months, not including the emotional trauma and therapy needed after losing her home and family.
By donating money to Angie and her family, you will be supporting her medical expenses, rehabilitation, housing needs for husband, Chris and helping her get the best care she needs to recover from this horrific and tragic event. In the blink of an eye, Angie and Chris lost their home, mom, and little boy. She has a long road ahead.
Thank you in advance for your consideration and donations.
