Help Tom and Jane Hale with Flood Damage
Hi, my name is Leah, and I started this fundraiser to help Tom and Jane Hale of Miami Arizona. On July 29th, 2021, their ranch was destroyed in the flooding from the monsoon rains.
Their ranch had been spared from the devastation of the Telegraph fire, although it burned everything for miles around them, including about 5 miles upstream. With no vegetation to hold the soil, it all came downstream. The Hale’s did everything they could do prepare for potential flooding. They deepened the creek bed and placed concrete barriers along the banks and also sandbagged. The barriers weigh several tons each and were tossed like matchsticks. We thought they were prepared for the damage, but it was far worse than anyone expected. Every room was filled with an average of 6 inches of mud and silt. Some rooms had debris over two feet high. The flooding took the garage and its contents, several vehicles and moved the propane tank several hundred feet. The Hale’s also lost two of their dogs, one drowned inside the house. Friends and family have been working tirelessly to help clean out the mud and move debris. The recovery effort will take years.
Tom and Jane are active in their community and need all the help they can get. They are a wonderful part of their community and family and great friends.
Please help out my cousin's if you can, any bit will help with the costs of resorting their home.
