Help Tom and Judy Rebuild After Tragic Plane Crash
Donation protected
As many know, Saturday, August 31st, a plane crashed into family townhomes in Fairview, Oregon. One of those homes belonged to our father and mother, Tom and Judy Keegan, also known as Mom, Dad, Grandma, Papa, Gigi and Opie, two of the most important people in our lives! They are amazing people who are always there for others, but now need our help.
Tom had surgery last week and was confined to the upstairs of their home while he healed. He was thrown from the impact of the explosion when the plane landed on their home but thankfully was able to get out, even though his home was now engulfed in flames. Tom was taken to the hospital by ambulance, he was in shock and had a lot of pain that needed to be checked for internal damage, thankfully he was released that night. Judy had just gone for a walk and was returning to their home, we are so blessed she was unharmed physically, the emotional damage is too much though for both of them and for all in the community. The loss of life, homes, it is all consuming, there is so much to grieve.
Our parents escaped with only the clothing they were wearing, my father didn't even have shoes and emerged from the home walking through glass dazed. Their phones and computers are gone, their entire life of family photos, family heirlooms/memories that cannot be replaced, all household possessions furniture, etc are lost. They lost everything and are lucky to have their lives. They don't even have a car as it was in the garage at the time of the accident, it may be a month or more before we can try to find out what the damage is. Tom's wallet and Judy's purse were also destroyed, it's so hard to start over like this.
Since this is an airplane investigation there are many entities involved, the NTSB, FBI, local authorities, so many agencies need to investigate before they can even begin to receive money from insurance claims and try to rebuild.
They have been through so much and we want to help them get a start on rebuilding their lives. If anyone would consider helping them we'd appreciate it, this is such a tremendous loss for them and every little bit helps. You never realize how much you have until it's gone like this.
Thank you for donating or sharing their story, we are all forever changed by what we have witnessed but incredibly grateful they are here with us today, we don't know how we could move on without them, they are the rock of our family and we want to do whatever we can to help them get back into a home and have things to call their own.
