Donation protected
UPDATE 4-19-23
Thank You to everyone who has helped Angela and Louis by giving a donation or praying for them. We have almost reached the halfway mark for the short term monetary goal!
The short term goal is to save their home and get caught up on numerous vital bills necessary to live. They are extremely grateful for everything, but the long, challenging road that still lies ahead of them continues to overwhelm Angela.
Also, for those wishing to join us for the celebration of life for Tom Tocco. We will be gathering on Sunday, May 28, 2023. 1400 (2pm) @ Lake Mills Park, Chuluota FL. Please come join us, bring a drink or snacks, and share your memories and stories.
UPDATE 4-2-23
First and foremost the most critical area of concern which Angela needs our financial assistance is to catch up the mortgage on the house along with other important necessities to move forward with their lives.
This will be a step by step process. So far a little over $3,000 has been donated which Angela greatly appreciates. This is only a drop in the bucket of the financial goal she desperately needs for the long haul. To take it step by step we are setting Goals for donations for the most urgent needs first. The Goal to save their home is now set at $10,000. We are almost a third of the way to meeting that goal. We can do this together ❤️
After that Goal and crisis is resolved we will set another Goal to help Angela and Louis every step of the way! Thank You All!
Please help share Angela and Louis' story!
UPDATE 4-1-23
Angela and Louis are coping the best that they can under the stressful and sad circumstances they are under. We have learned that Tom did not have a Life Insurance policy and Angela and Louis are truly in dire straits trying to catch up financially with the mortgage on their home. Not to mention many other debts that are now Angela's responsibility.
Tom was the main bread winner of their home. Just imagine for a moment if you were in Angela's shoes. How would you feel knowing you might lose your home, and your spouse just passed away from a horrific disease? What would you do? Would you ask for help from friends and family?
Remember Tom didn't work for many months before he passed away, but Angela kept working trying to make ends meet while caring for him, as well. Tom didn't want people to know about his ALS. He was still processing it and was misdiagnosed for way too long. Angela kept it quiet and truly didn't want to ask for help.
But we convinced her to let us set up this Go Fund Me Account assuring her that the Oviedo community that we've known and loved was tight and has always helped others in their darkest times. I've witnessed it with my own eyes many times.
We are asking you to open your heart and help support Angela and Louis with any donation- no amount is too small if we all just combine our efforts. Oviedo, especially, I'm really counting on your support for them. Tom graduated from OHS! Actually, anyone reading this, I don't care where you live, you know what's the right thing to do. Please help Angela and Louis ❤️
I've always believed " It's better to GIVE than RECEIVE"
I still have Faith in Humanity even with all the violence we witness daily in our world! ❤️
Tom would have turned 54 on APRIL 6th, 2023. Listen to your heart and let it guide you with an amount you feel you personally can donate ❤️
Thank You To All ❤️
UPDATE 3-29-23
We know that Angela broke the news to Louis as soon as he got home yesterday from school. Angela and Louis are trying to just cope right now with the sudden death of Tom. She has been busy and overwhelmed notifying family while trying to attend to so many important details and arrangements. Thank You to everyone who has donated any amount to help her and Louis financially with the devastating loss of Tom.
Now that Tom has passed and is no longer there to care for his family, we urge you to be a part of a family- a circle of community- who will help care for them. Angela and Louis still need our combined efforts to support them. She is so thankful for your generosity, prayers, and kindness during this difficult time.
Tom would not want them to suffer so much from his untimely passing. Tom's ALS and the quick decline of his horrific disease did not allow him to make preparations for Angela and Louis' future without him.
Tom was not only a dedicated husband to Angela, but a father to his only son, Louis.
❤️❤️
UPDATE 3-28-23
It's with the heaviest of hearts that we inform you of Tom's sudden passing this morning. Angela and Louis still desperately need our support for his funeral and other critical expenses.
OUR TEAM - NEEDS YOUR HELP- ALS/LOU GEHRIGS DISEASE DEVASTATES FAMILY
Hi, I'm Jackie Murphy and with the help of Laurie Lafrenay, we are reaching out to everyone to help us raise funds for an EMERGENCY situation that we were just made aware of regarding Angela Tocco's husband, Tom and his diagnosis of TERMINAL ALS!
TOM IS DECLINING QUICKLY
Tom had been unable to work since August, and went undiagnosed for six months. He recently has been diagnosed with ALS, which is incurable. This devastating terminal diagnosis hits extra hard, with him being an independant owner/operator CDL driver, and the main wage-earner for the family. His being out of work for so long, without a diagnosis, was difficult and financially draining, in addition to the shock of the emotional stress that they are still processing. His difficulty with mobility issues are worsening. Add to this the ALS diagnosis, and imagine the hardships his family is dealing with presently.
WHY THEY NEED OUR HELP URGENTLY
We are trying to help them make ends meet quickly by raising funds before they lose their home and other assets. In addition, you need to realize he will not survive and Angela will need help with his end-of-life expenses. Angela is and has been the only one working trying to keep the family caught up financially, manage Tom's healthcare, and keep Louis' tuition for college current. Currently, she is looking for a second job just to save her home. This is an impossible feat for Angela to do alone. In order for them to move forward as they navigate the difficult road ahead of them, together we can help them save their home and receive the medical help he so desperately needs. Getting disability benefits is an issue, as the doctors are backlogged with patients and can't keep up.
THE TOCCOS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN ACTIVE and INVOLVED COMMUNITY MEMBERS!
Tom and Angela have lived in Oviedo for 24 years, and their son Louis is a graduate of OHS, where he attended the NJROTC program. Louis was a student of mine at Stenstrom Elementary, and Angela and Tom helped dividend in my classroom frequently. Even after I left Stenstrom, Angela and Tom helped set up many of my classrooms, long after Louis was in my class. Angela has a heart of gold and has always helped others in their time of need. Their situation is truly desperate, and we want to help pay it forward by helping them with this crisis.
CAN YOU HELP/BECOME A SAMARITAN?
Helping Angela and Tom through this horrific battle is going to be challenging. We must join forces with the community she has always helped without hesitation. Angela would give anyone the shirt off her back. Laurie and I know what a generous community we have raised our children in and how everyone, around this Country, comes together to help when a family is in crisis mode.
*Please, pray for them and any amount of money you could donate would be greatly appreciated. No amount is too small. Any funds that are donated will go directly into Angela's bank account. Angela and Tom were hesitant to ask for help, but knowing what Laurie and I have learned, we were compelled to convince Angela to accept financial help by allowing us to set up this Go Fund Me Account.
*We will continue to update this page with Tom and Angela's journey. All donations will provide support for Tom and his family. The beneficiary is the Tocco Family.
Please help us share their story everywhere.
Thank You All ❤️
