Help Tom Knox Rebuild After Colorado Fires
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kea Behnke. My Uncle Tom Knox was greatly affected by the horrific wildfires in the Boulder, Colorado, area.
Tom, a dear brother, uncle, and friend, was devastated by the fire in Superior, Colorado. He had not received any reverse 911 calls or an evacuation notification. He left the house in 105 mph wind and heavy smoke. He did not even have time to grab his wallet or cell phone.
Tom is safe; however, he has lost everything. Tom, an SR Test and Measurement Engineer, had amassed a collection of equipment to repair expensive lab equipment in his home. His lab was worth millions of dollars.
Tom had just recently moved from his Lab of two decades to a new location where he was planning on FINALLY taking the next steps to turn his visions into reality but had sadly not yet had the ability to get all of this equipment insured
We would love to see Tom be able to get back to his long-term goal of creating a lab for engineers and scientists to be able to develop their intellectual property patterns outside of the obligatory ownership of venture capitalists owning their ideas before they are even realized.
Tom has spent decades amassing knowledge and equipment and has worked with practically every national laboratory, agency, and independent large-scale testing measurement calibration services group in the United States and beyond.
He has helped countless do it yourself engineers, as well as large facilities, not only get equipment that they need, but understand how to use it & improve and explore the possibilities of new applications and revolutionary new approaches
Being able to get things operating financially is not only essential for his own personal well-being, but the continuing trajectory of his vision to help so many new engineers and scientists realize their visions as well
Financial contributions to this campaign are essential and there is also the opportunity for meaningful contributions of equipment from the many people he has done work with over the years who could help him by giving him equipment to provide the new foundation for rebuilding his test & measurement lab
Tom did not have access to his bank account at the time this fundraiser was created so the beneficiary that is listed is one of his siblings. All money raised is being sent to Tom in Colorado to help rebuild his life.
Kea Behnke, Tom's niece, started this fundraiser. Kea is from Stillwater, MN. Tom Knox will use these funds to pay for items lost, including clothing, personal items, groceries, shelter, and anything he needs to rebuild. Any money above and beyond getting his personal possessions replaced will go toward rebuilding his lab and getting back to accomplishing his dream.
