Help Tom Walczynski's fight against cancer

Update: My dad has been in the hospital with peritonitis since 2/29/24. He is at Essentia St Mary's in Duluth room 1807. He is up for scheduled visiting if anyone wants to say hello, reach out to me. In the hospital he has been receiving IV antibiotics and pain meds and has had the fluid in his peritoneum tapped/drained 3 times now. He is not eating or drinking well and he is very weak. We are all holding out hope that he will turn a corner and that he can gain enough strength to return home and finish his outpatient chemo treatments. He has 3 rounds of chemo left in his 6 month treatment plan but as of right now his kidney lab values are too low for him to finish his treatment. My mom has stayed with him every night/day in the hospital and my sister and I have stopped in everyday. Thank you for all the kind thoughts, good vibes, prayers, and donations, they are much appreciated during this difficult time for our family.

Hi, my name is Michelle (Shelley) Geissler and I am the oldest child of Tom and Maureen Walczynski. On 10/13/23 we received the devastating news that my dad has large malignant tumors in the bile ducts of his liver. He had a PET Scan on Wednesday 11/1. The PET Scan showed cancer only in the bile ducts of his liver and 1 lymph node closest to his liver. With the large size of my dad's liver tumors, resection surgery is not an option at this time. The official name of his cancer is Stage 3B intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. To say this has come as a complete shock to my entire family is an understatement. We appreciate all the love, kind thoughts, prayers and good vibes that have been pouring in. He is ready to fight this as hard as he can. I am trying to support my parents in this fight by making sure they do not have to worry about any financial burden that my dad's treatment is going to bring. I know my dad has many people in his corner willing to help him fight this thing, any and all the support we can shower him with is much appreciated.
