Tom's in Oregon! But all of his stuff is back in Houston!
Help Tom finish his journey *one more time* as he travels with his husband Ryan in a U-Haul truck filled to bursting with all his worldly possessions for over two thousand miles. The goal of this GoFundMe covers:
• One-way airfare for Ryan and Tom from Bend, Oregon to Houston, Texas
• Boarding for their dog while they're gone (about a week)
• Movers in Houston to load up the oxcart with all the supplies
• The oxcart rental (U-Haul truck) and mileage
• Cheap hotels along the way (it will take less time than the original Oregon Trail but it's still four days of travel!)
• Movers in Bend to unload the oxcart
• Missed time from work
• Road snacks
• No dysentery

- Why are you asking for support?
Tom had to shut down his yoga studio months ahead of schedule due to COVID-19, and he has been struggling to get his new business off the ground in this new [vagues gesturely at 2020]. Ryan's got a steady job but it don't pay much. A lot of the plans that we had - haven't come through. Yet!
- Have you ever done one of these before?
No! And I have no idea what to write! Hope it's working out!
- Aren't there more important things to donate to right now?
OMG YES. And please do that if you are able to.
- Why $2128?
That's one dollar for every mile we'll be traveling from beautiful Houston, Texas to beautiful Bend, Oregon, according to Google maps. It's probably not *exactly* the route we'll be taking, but it's a great way to measure the fundraiser!
- When's the Texodus going to occur?
We're aiming for the beginning of September. It'll take a while for us to organize and move all of the stuff out of storage before heading back up to Bend. If you're in Houston at that time, let's plan a social-distancing hang out! We'd love to see you!
- Are y'all ever coming back to Houston?
Of course! We both have family there - kith and kin - and once we're able to do so we're gonna give you so much huggggggsssssss. Next time we're down though, it will be much much easier.
- How grateful are you going to be for my contribution?
So much, y'all. Your help will make this dream we've been having for years a reality. We'll be as happy as a puppy in a tree.
