Help Tom's family while he recovers

 

Tom and Maggie have three beautiful children together and have been together for 8 years, married for almost 4 years. Their kids are their pride and joy and their work/careers have always been something they are passionate about. Tom is a Funeral Director and Maggie helps with her stepfather’s business and takes care of their children at home. The two of them have always worked hard and gone above and beyond in their work and personal lives.

This unexpected accident has left them needing help but not wanting to ask for it.

Tom has completely torn his patellar tendon(holds your kneecap in place), torn the muscles on both sides of his knee, sprained his ACL and MCL, and requires surgery. The recovery time including physical therapy could be up to six months or more. After surgery, Tom is required to keep that leg immobile and will need to be on disability from work. Maggie will have to stay home with him to assist him in every day mundane tasks and to care for their three children. Right now, Maggie is working as a door dasher to help bring in some additional income when possible but for a family of five, it is simply not enough.

The nature of Tom’s work means he will be home until he is able to work at full capacity. Although disability is helpful, again, it is just not enough for a family of five.
