Help Toni Martinez DONATE a kidney!

Donation protected
Toni is the epitome of selflessness. I want to be like her when I grow up!! Toni is always the first to help a coworker, throw a potluck for someone's birthday or last day at work, buy candy to improve the mood of the day, and bring in clothes or gifts for patients. She thinks about others more in one day than many do in a week.  She gives more than she has and doesn't think twice.
Toni told me about a month ago that she had been thinking/praying about donating a kidney since the beginning of the year.   She even made sure her daughters were covered with other possible donors in case they, God forbid, needed a kidney in the future and she had already given hers up.  Knowing her though, she'd give her only kidney and go on dialysis herself if it would help someone else.  After deciding to move forward with the tedious process late last Spring, Toni had just found out she was a match.  I cried.  She has the biggest heart.  I was overwhelmed with her selflessness and love.  She told me not to tell anyone because she didn't want people to know she was doing it because it was such a thought out, private decision.
I'm so happy she is finally telling people so that we can help her raise money (which she would NEVER ask for herself) as donating a kidney is a donation in all sense of the word.  Her food, lodging and travel for testing are not covered by insurance and are paid by the individual that is donating the kidney.  In addition, she'll have to travel back to Salt Lake for the removal and transplant and then will be off work during the recovery.  Again, this is all paid for by the donating individual.  I hope we can raise some money to help Toni give in a way that not many of us would/could.

This was her Facebook post from today, October 30th 2016 : Today in church they talked about generosity and giving. To me it's not always about finances. Sometimes it could be as easy as giving your old clothes to someone in need. Or letting go of a worldly thing that you cherish. For it is in giving that we receive. God will provide us with all we need..Today's teaching confirmed my decision yet again. It also made me feel like I need to make it public.. I have been in the process of a kidney donation since may 2016. I just told my friend 3 weeks ago that I am a match completely for her daughter. I decided 2 weeks ago that my friend could tell people if she wanted to, after all as a mom and I would be excited. I am doing this to change a child's life not for the publicity.. I wasn't going to tell anyone, but my close friends, then decided I didn't care who knew. I was suppose to fly out this week to see what kidney I was going to give, but due to finances I have to put it off a couple more weeks, because none of the travel and stay is payed for. I hope the donation will be completed this year.
