Help us take SuperFly Autos to the next level

Donation protected
We are Tony and Carmen Matthews co-founders of SuperFly Autos ‘This is how we roll’ based in England.

We are reaching out today to ask this brilliant community for some support, because of various factors out of our control. The last two years has put immense pressure on our business due to the Covid situation and also our Facebook/Instagram accounts were hacked in 2019, which no longer gives us access to advertise and also not allowing us to reach all of our community (We now only reach around 10% of our 1.4Million Followers). Adding to these issues, global supply chain problems have caused shipping costs for our magazines and branded clothes to skyrocket. These things have impacted our ability to take SuperFly Autos to where we envisioned it all those years ago, to bring the car community closer together…something we had never expected to happen.

We have created this business investment fund raise to take SuperFly Autos to the next level of documenting the global car culture and sharing authentic inspiring real-life car stories…a dream and mission we have been working towards since 2006. NOTE: This is an investment fund raise for the business.

We are looking for 1334 passionate car enthusiasts who believe in our mission to donate £60 ($83) each to reach our goal as soon as possible. It will provide us the solid foundations to put SuperFly Autos into a thriving position now and in the future, especially during these challenging times and give us the leverage to create these inspiring stories on a regular basis.

If you are not in a position to provide a donation, we would appreciate your personal influence in the car community by sharing this fund raiser, with all your fellow passion car enthusiasts throughout your social platforms. It will help us to keep this dream alive for our community and start a journey of bringing these incredible stories to life, keeping their voices and creativity inspiring generations to come.

OUR JOURNEY, WHY ARE WE DOING THIS AND NEED YOUR SUPPORT
Since 2012 when SuperFly Autos was born, it has always been our dream and mission to create original authentic stories from the global car culture to inspire car enthusiasts, ever since we became part of the culture in 1999. At the end of 2014, we took a huge, calculated risk and sold all our possessions, left our full-time jobs, worked hard for 6 months in our corporate career to save £6000 to then start to travel the world in search for amazing custom car builds and their owners stories.

From 2014 to 2019, we had been working as branding and social media consultants freelance, whilst searching out for these amazing car stories. We would stay with our family and car friends, so that we could fully immerse ourselves into the car culture more than ever before. Then the world stopped in 2020 with the Covid situation, which then placed us into a position whereby for the last two years, lost us business and had to use our savings to keep us going through the lockdown.

Our social media platforms since the hack we had in 2019 and the change in their Algorithms, advertising is no longer possible, which has reduced our reach to our community and thus provided another blow for us to grow SuperFly Autos and increase cashflow.

This is where we need your help. We have never asked before our community to work with us to take SuperFly Autos to the next level and we had never expected a global situation to affect us the way it did, like so many others around the world. Our aim is to bring inspiring stories that are authentic and meaningful in a time where so many of us need to see that humanity is still thriving for positivity and showing the governments that our community is making a difference in the world. But we can’t do it without your help and want you to be part of making automotive history.

OUR MISSION
Seeking out the local legends and stories of the global car culture lifestyle, by creating original authentic reporting and storytelling for the custom car community. To be the definitive source for the builders, garages, communities, scenes and stories that drive the culture creatively and inspire others to become local legends.

We will be travelling to all parts of different countries in search of custom car builders who have influenced the culture with their custom car builds, starting in our home country of England. Seeking out the true local legends who break the boundaries of customising, to share their stories, their builds and what makes them think different. We shall also bring forth stories from custom Hot Wheels creators, who build diecasts in the same way as real-life builders and other inspiring stories we come across along the way.

JOIN US LIVE EVERY MONTH
Join us every month on the road & through our social channels for live behind the scenes of car shoots and interviews with people from the culture, which will then be released once a week to inspire you to become a local legend and keep our community alive through inspiring stories and builds.

We shall also keep creating our collectable car and custom diecast print and digital magazines, thus allowing you to keep a physical copy of builds that have impacted our global car culture.

WHAT WILL WE DO WITH YOUR DONATIONS

• Purchase a car to allow us to travel to car builders destinations to capture their stories (We sold our car back in 2014 to raise our money for leaving and as we were travelling out of suitcase, we had never planned for a car yet until the Covid situation has now kept us more in England than before).

• Car insurance/tax (To cover the basics needed to have the car on the road).

• 2x vlog cameras/batteries/memory cards/external microphones/Tripods to provide the highest quality images, video and audio, as our current equipment is very old now (6 years old).

• New laptop to assist in faster editing times, as our laptops are 6 years old and very slow.

• Fuel for the car to travel to and from our destinations to capture these inspiring stories.

• External Hard drives for storage of videos and photographs.

• Marketing budget to promote each video and evolving the brand into Blockchain to give us more control of our brand, rather than the social media platforms.

MEET THE FOUNDERS AND THEIR STORY

Tony Matthews
Passionate about cars since his first Hot Wheels, built his own car and had it magazine featured in Maxpower Magazine back in 2001 and organised numerous car club stands at events in England. He also led convoys of cars to more than 50 car shows and cruises, got his car featured in 3 major automotive custom car magazines and worked as a freelance writer for Fast Car Magazine whilst at University, then working full time with them for 2 years. Then from 2006 to 2012, photographed cars professionally for numerous car magazines from around the world.

Carmen Matthews
From the age of 11 years, her father had a great passion for hot rod racing at the Bonneville salt flats and the legend Dean Moon from Mooneyes. He collected books and VHS Cassettes, where he would share the stories with her. She then started photographing cars with Tony from 2006 till 2012 for numerous car magazines from around the world.

Our Story
They both met in Switzerland back in 2003 when Tony was on a freelance automotive journalist assignment for Fast Car Magazine and Carmen was working as a child minder, who had car friends. Both started seeing each other since that first encounter.

Tony then worked full time for a large car magazine in England called Fast Car for almost 3 years, then deciding to go freelance, due to the global network of connections he made. This started Carmen and Tony on a journey of documenting the car culture in England, Europe and the USA for numerous international car magazines.

It was then a dream to create their own digital car magazine and SuperFly Autos was born. Over a period of 7 years whilst working their 9 to 5 jobs, would take all their holidays and weekends to travel the country and Europe to capture car culture in photographs and tell the owners stories.

Then two years prior to them leaving England in 2014, they knew that in order to document the car culture on a global scale, they needed to quit their day jobs, as Tony worked 5 years for government and each 3 months not knowing if his job is still there, whilst Carmen worked in super stressful corporate banking as video conference operator. This led both of them knowing inside that something had to change in order to live out their dreams.

So, over a period of 1 and half years, they learnt a new way of working away from an office through an online marketing company, so that they could build an online business on the road. Then 6 months prior to quitting their corporate jobs in 2014, a decision was made to sell everything they had, for Carmen to work extra hours in order to save up 6 Months of money in the bank.

This allowed them to leave England at the end of 2014, to start a journey of living out of suitcase to travel the world in search of the most inspiring car builds. Over the last 6 years of them travelling (which they still currently do), it hasn’t been an easy road with great obstacles to overcome such as getting paid work, where to stay, managing the budget, overcoming fear and comfort to envision their dream life to inspire other automotive enthusiasts and people, that you can step outside the box and reach for your dreams.
