Help Tony Fight False Accusations

Anthony Hentz, better known as “Tony” has been the manager at the Dollar General store in Waukon, IA for years. He is a small town celebrity with how he brightens everyone’s day who came into the store. People would go to the store just to get a mood boost from Tony. He was always a helpful face who’d give the shirt off of his back for anyone.
A few weeks ago Dollar General started accusing Tony of stealing store deposits. An article on this was posted in last weeks Waukon Standard newspaper, which also had false information stated in it. There’s always much more to a story. Everyone was shocked to hear about this, they couldn’t believe that he would do that..that wasn’t like Tony…because he didn’t! He’s innocent!
Tony had played the ring around for awhile, proving that deposits were indeed brought to the bank. Eventually he had had enough of the accusations and turned his keys in. He had put his heart and soul into a company who wanted to accuse a 63 year old veteran who’s never spent a day in jail in his life, with absolutely no criminal history, of stealing money from them.
They didn’t stop with the accusations even after he turned his keys in, the police department was contacted who also acted way out of line in the process of their investigation. Guns were drawn while he was warming up a sandwich in his own home. Tony gave the police department the OK to search his home, which they came up empty for anything corresponding to Dollar General, but they did take cash he had saved up for his family back in Chicago. Nowhere near the $10,000 Dollar General is claiming is missing. The police used this cash as “probable cause” to take him into jail, claiming the money was Dollar Generals and not his. Although he has withdrawal receipts from his own bank, who is not the same bank Dollar General banks with. This was the first time in his life Tony was ever put behind bars. Could you imagine, the Tony you know, sitting in jail? Having guns drawn on him? A 63 year old veteran with absolutely no criminal history?
Tony is innocent and is heartbroken and confused more than anything. He is currently jobless and has a huge support system behind him. The rest of his staff walked out in support of Tony, they would not work for a company who was going to treat Tony the way they had. The whole staff is now also fighting for unemployment being they quit and weren’t fired.
If anything Dollar General owes Tony money, not the other way around. Tony has spent money out of his own pocket to have the stores windows cleaned, he’s spent money out of his own pocket for a shop vac to clean the stores rugs, he’s spent money out of his own pocket for newspaper ads when the store had sales going on. He’s spent countless volunteer hours, unpaid, working to keep up his store and keep the customers happy. I could go on and on.
Tony is very well known in this small community, and from a recent Facebook post I believe we can rally together and help him and his employees in this tough time.
If you can’t contribute, please just spread the word. Tony just wants his name back more than anything, and he more than deserves that.
After this, I hope I can say that he’s on the front page newspaper, stating that the accusations were proven false and Dollar General has another million dollar lawsuit coming at them.
