Help Tony Looper with his Cancer Battle

Hey everyone, if you don't already know my dad Tony was diagnosed with Stage IV Colorectal cancer right before Christmas this past year. In December 2022 he started having stomach pains that got to be unbearable. He didn't want to go to the ER and have to wait there in all the pain he was having. I found that one of Prisma's smaller hospitals had a short wait time and we finally talked him into going to get seen about it. They took a scan and saw that he had a tear in his colon. They told us they would have to do immediate surgery and there would be a strong possibility that he would have to have a colostomy bag short term. Not even 2 hours after he went back the doctor came to tell us surgery was over and that they couldn't get to the spot of his colon that had the tear. They said that his colon was hard and it didn't come out like most people would think it would, it was like a hard rock, basically frozen. Also, all of the organs in his abdominal cavity were stuck together. They said that he would need more exploratory surgery and moved him to the main Prisma hospital. After that surgery, they told us that they couldn't get to the tear and even if they could they wouldn't be able to remove it because the entire colon was eaten up with cancer. Cancer would have been contained in just the colon, but due to the tear, caused cancer to leak out into the abdominal cavity. So now the cancer is coating all of his other organs as well. this is why his colon was hard and this is why his organs were stuck together. They did have to give him a colostomy bag and this is a learning process for him. He stayed in the hospital for almost a month and was in ICU throughout the Christmas holiday. His oxygen would drop so low that he was on 60 liters of high-flow oxygen. Thankfully he is home now and not on any oxygen!!! Although he is home now, he is still having to make many trips to Greenville for doctor visits and chemo treatment. Unfortunately, his cancer is too far progressed to treat and the doctors only give him about a year to live. On top of the doctor visits, his medicine is changing weekly, and with each doctor's visit, he is having to pay his co-pay. With him going to the doctor 2-3 times a week and with his medicines changing at least once a week, or a new medicine being added in, it can be very costly. The mileage, the co-pays, and the cost of medicines is adding up. My mom and dad are both living on limited incomes due to them both being on disability. My mom had brain cancer about 8 years ago that caused her to be disabled, and about 5 years ago my dad was diagnosed with MS, about 2 years ago this caused him to go fully disabled and not be able to work anymore. Some weeks they struggle to wonder how they are going to afford to make it by the next week. If you can donate $1 or even just share this post and encourage others to donate that would truly help my parents in this battle. Even a simple prayer will be a blessing to our family! Thank you for reading this story about my dad, and thank you for praying for him, my mom and our family during this difficult time in our lives.
WE DO HAVE A MEAL TRAIN SET UP FOR THEM FOR THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY! I WILL SHARE THE CALENDAR AS SOON AS WE FINISH UP WITH IT FOR ANYONE TO SIGN UP!
