Help Torrie's Restaurant Endure COVID-19
Donation protected
Known as a staple in the Howard University and DC area for good and quick southern food, Torrie's at Wilson's (700 V Street, NW) had to shut it's doors and layoff 90% of it's employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Like so many other small businesses, we weren't able to secure a government backed PPP loan.
Although not planning to re-open for dine-in service in the near future, the owner (John Goodwin); would like to restart take-out service and hopefully bring back some of the staff.
We don't take this ask lightly and would be eternally grateful for however little or much you can donate. We look forward to the day that we ALL can get on the other side of this pandemic and hope that you and yours are safe, well and happy.
Please also check out a recent article written on the restaurant and it's owner.
