Having just hit some great form Josh Griffin is now on the end of a 7 game ban

After a few days chatting with Griff he has asked me to put up this statement to the fans. Any responses I will forward to him

I want to apologise to anyone associated with rugby league for my actions. What I did is not acceptable at any level. We are taught from young kids to respect the referee, that’s what makes our game great.
My actions had a huge impact on the game, and I’ve let myself, my family, my club, the fans , the wider rugby league community and most importantly my team mates down.
Who deserved better.
I play the game on raw emotions and whilst it’s not an excuse sometimes it gets the better of me and given the uncertainty of my future and my history in the same fixture It was elevated.
This is an area I clearly need to improve. I now must accept the consequences of my actions. As that’s the only way we truly learn.
However, whilst I accept that I am guilty, I won’t accept what I’ve been accused of.

I’m overwhelmed by the support I have received, I’ve tried to stay clear of social media.I’ve been told about the go fund me page, this is something I never imagined happening and shows how amazing the Hull FCs fans are. However, I will not be accepting the donation as I don’t feel that it is right, I have to suffer the consequences of my actions and accepting money from other people would just not sit right with me. Please either return the money to the people that have donated or with their permission please donate to a local charity.

Once again i apologise to all.
