Help Tracey smile again
Hello, I am Doris and I have made this fundraiser for my lovely neighbour Tracey Marr. She really needs our help today.
Tracey has been suffering from epilepsy for 16 years now. She can't drive and suffers terrible seizures.
On Monday 21st of June she had another terrifying seizure and in the unfortunate fall lost both of her top front teeth and suffered a broken jaw.
You can see in one of the photos I have added, how bad the mouth is bruised and the loss of the teeth.
3 years ago she knocked one of her front bottom teeth out during an epileptic fit. She has been very self conscious about her smile every since, but it hasn’t stopped her smiling. In fact she is known for her happy attitude and big smile.
The ambulance officers saved her teeth, as they can quite often be put back in and will eventually heal, but because of her epilepsy (and the risk of swallowing them) the doctors couldn’t do that.
She can also not have dentures or any other removable (and cheaper) option to restore her smile because of the same reason. Her only option are dental implants.
At a cost of approximately $ 5000.- per tooth, this is unfortunately not an option for Tracey and her husband.
Tracey is a mum of 3 and grandma of 3.
She is also a carer for her dementia suffering father-in-law.
Tracey really does not deserve to have to live with this disfigurement. She is a shadow of herself at the moment as she is in incredible pain, but also the thought of not being able to smile is really getting her down especially around her grandchildren and the kids at school where she works part-time.
She works at Mudgeeraba State Primary and many people in Mudgeeraba will know her happy smile from her years at the tuckshop and now cleaning at the school.
Tracey is such a naturally cheerful and happy person that this is just so unfair. She really deserves our help.
