Help Tracy alleviate debt and focus on health

Hi, my name is Kristen and I'm fundraising for my dear friend Tracy Lynn Lisius. In the past 2 years, Tracy has been diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and Dysautonomia, a chronic illness that is progressively degenerative and adversely affects every part of her life. Ehlers-Danlos is a genetic connective tissue disorder that causes hypermobility and regular dislocations, subluxations and pain. Just in the past year, her condition as quickly progressed and limited her capacity to function.

Daily activities like walking and showering are a challenge and Tracy now requires multiple braces to stabilize her joints and a wheelchair to travel longer distances. These conditions also impact her autonomic nervous system and basic body functions like blood pressure and temperature regulation, sleep cycles, heart rate, breathing, and digestion. Her illness is complicated by PTSD and the associated emotional strain that further triggers her nervous system.

The past several months have been particularly difficult for Tracy, as her illness has progressed to the point that she has been unable to work or earn an income to cover basic expenses and healthcare costs. In April 2021, her team of medical specialists recommended she apply for a medical disability retirement - a process that incurs legal fees and can take months to years to finalize in the federal government.

Tracy has somehow maintained incredible positivity in spite of her degenerating health and mental stress. With the help of her doctors, she has managed to secure many community resources to help support food and utility costs for the short-term. The funds raised from this GoFundMe will help Tracy pay down medical and legal expense debt that has been piling up since April. Her financial situation is urgent, as she is at risk of losing her housing and the stress is causing her health condition to worsen over time.
