Please help Anastasia and Tracy recover from fire
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Dixie Wilson and I am asking for help for my dear friend Tracy Giles and her partner of 25 years Anastasia (Stacy) Hartog who lost their family home in an electrical fire on May 19, 2021.
Tracy has become a part of our family over the past 7 years as she has boarded our dog Tucker while we are away from home. One of the many reasons Tracy means so much to us is because from day one, she has considered Tucker one of her own. Tucker has grown up with her dogs and they all love each other and spend their days running and playing on the acres tucked into the Mirrormont area of Tiger Mountain.
Tracy cares for her elderly mother Alberta, who is wheelchair bound. Thankfully, Tracy, her partner Anastasia Hartog ,her mother and their four dogs made it out of the fire safely but sadly lost their beloved cat.
While we are all grateful that they made it out of the house alive, it was in the middle of the night with only the clothes on their backs. As you can see in the photos below, the house still has walls but has been deemed toxic and unlivable as the entire roof collapsed in the fire.
Tracy’s home was her sanctuary but the property her livelihood. It is there she ran her boarding business for over 8 years, and trained her agility dogs. Like many around the world, COVID-19 brought Tracy's business to a standstill and has left her without a steady income for over a year. Just as things were starting to improve this fire happened. Anastasia has worked at Swedish Medical Center for 28 years and was preparing for retirement, when this happened.
While Tracy and her family are grateful for the insurance coverage that will help them figure out the best way to rebuild their lives, short term their needs are substantial starting with finding a place to live, replacement of immediate personal items such as cell phones, medications, dog items and lost wages.
My husband Steve and I are doing what we can to help our dear friend out but we ask, if there is any amount of money you are willing to give to help out Tracy and her family with their most basic and immediate needs we and she will be forever grateful.
Lastly, Tracy and her family are very private people, and always giving to others. For this reason I am stepping up by creating this GoFundMe page in their honor.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
