Tracy’s cancer battle fund!

My name is Kate and Tracy is my sister. Technically, she is my sister-in-law, but from the moment I met her, she has truly treated me like a sister. When I think of Tracy the words warm, caring and strong come to mind. One of my favorite things about Tracy is her hugs. They are full of love and comfort. She is an amazing teacher who loves her students and has coworkers who have become like family.

The last 2 years haven’t been easy for us as a family. In June of 2021, my daughter was stillborn at 33 weeks. 8 short months later, we were thrown into another tailspin when we lost my mother-in-law, Elaine. To know Elaine was to know that she loved her children fiercely. She supported them and cheered them on in anything and everything they did in life. There are two, huge, holes in our family, and some days we are all just holding on to whatever we can to make it to the next day.

In the summer of 2022, Tracy found out she had stage three colon cancer. This diagnosis shocked all of us as she was experiencing no symptoms. I remember when Tracy called to tell me what her doctor had to say. I heard the words, but none of them made sense. How could we, how could she handle more?

During her treatments, she has remained upbeat even though we know she isn’t feeling great. While the love and support she has now is unwavering, the one person she wants in her corner cannot be by her side. It’s truly inspiring to see her with a smile on her face taking things as they come. She has continued to show up for her family and friends, even when we tell her to slow down and not do too much.

She always makes sure that others are taken care of and now it’s our time to step up and take care of her the best we can. The chemo treatments have been making her very sick causing her to miss work. While options for sick time have run out, she is forced to take these days unpaid. As we all know, life doesn’t wait for cancer. We have decided to make this page for her to try and help ease her mind when it comes to living expenses while dealing with this illness. Anything you’re able to donate would mean the world to her as she continues to walk this journey.
