HELP TRAIN ME TO BE A VETERAN COMPANION

Hi, as you all know my name is Dr. Ashley Aanonsen. I work at an animal hospital in Staten Island.

Lately we have been getting a bunch of dumped, surrendered, and neglected dogs.

The dog featured in the photo, is now named Harvey, a 10 month old LABRADOR. He was surrendered to me at the hospital because he was no longer allowed to live in the home, do to the family's personal views. Harvey is your average goofy Labrador who knows his basic commands but could be a bit of an unruly pushy puppy.

This is where the story comes in. Several months ago a had a client, who I had seen multiple times with his dog. He had a black labrador who he loved dearly. Unfortunately the beloved labrador passed away tragically, leaving a giant hole in my client's heart. We spent several hours crying as I let him vent and tell me his story as he constantly looked at the dog asking him to come home. He asked me to stay with the dog for a few minutes he needed to run home and get something for his pal to be cremated with, and when he returned he said no words but handed me a PURPLE HEART, gave his boy a kiss, said goodbye and walked out. I found out that day he was a Vietnam veteran he clearly earned a high honor while serving his country. His dog was not just his best friend, but his lifeline.

I called him the next morning, and told him I would find him a new dog to be his very best pal, but it had to be a rescue and it had to a lab (my clients wishes).

HI HARVEY!

My client loves this new young dog, but I need this dog to be a good mannered man who is extremely obedient and could possibly help with PTSD.

I have reached out to a board and train facility thanks to the help of a rescue I am affiliated with who is willing to take the case on. Harvey was just neutered, fully vetted, and ready for to take on his training for his new job. VETERAN COMPANION.

If possible, and you can donate to help me help this situation I am forever grateful, and I will keep you all posted. I take my career very seriously, not just to help the animals that cross my path but the owners who need me to help them. This is one of those situations.
