Help Trash Date Fund Their Debut Album

Hello family, friends and fans. Thank you for taking the time to visit this crowdfunding page. Your continued interest and support have likely brought you here but if not, allow us to introduce ourselves.

We are a rock trio called Trash Date from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Over the years, the three of us have performed together in various projects both live and studio. We have had the opportunity to collectively back some of our favorite artists in the Twin Cities and beyond. The connection we’ve built as a rhythm section has inspired the deepest of friendships, both within our trio and our community. This inseparability not only encouraged the beginnings of Trash Date but continues to sustain us today.

In the fall of 2021, we ventured to a cabin in Wisconsin. This cabin was a place for us to bring our reject songs. A place for all the lyrics and melodies that have collected dust or lost their shine. A place for us to recycle our creative trash and turn them into treasures. This experiment turned into six songs. We were so surprised by our ability to repurpose these discarded dreams that we decided to have many, many more trash dates. Soon we would record six more songs, completing our twelve-song album.

Our debut album i tried to save the world… is a collection of big swings. Through this project, we have discovered ourselves to be not just players, but artists as well.

As this album nears completion we humbly ask for your help. Making an album (even DIY) is an expensive undertaking. Though we were able to do most of the recording on our own, we hope to provide a healthy contribution to our small team of collaborators. With your support, we would be able to cover the cost of their time, provide the finishing touches for the album, and supply us with the tools for the most advantageous release. More specifically, these expenses include mixing, mastering, engineering/producing, and promotional work (artwork, video, photos).

The process of making this album has brought us closer to each other, our community, and ourselves. This adventure has been both a privilege and a lesson, a gift in meaning and purpose for us all, love in all its forms. We hope to share this experience with you soon.
