Help Travis win the cancer battle - times two.

Hello I am a friend and colleague of Ashley , Travis's wife. Just like Travis - Ashley works numerous hours both at work, and then at home to help support their family and Travis through his battle with both Prostate and Colon cancer. Sometimes you just need a little help. Anything you could donate would be of great benefit and truly appreciated. Ashley did a wonderful job in helping to tell you Travis's story - please take time to learn about what a wonderful man and father Travis is.
Travis Day is a 40 yr old cherished son, loving Partner and devoted father of 3, His son Blake (19) is proudly serving our country in the US. Army currently stationed in Ft. Bragg NC. His daughter Payton (14) is a freshman in high school this year, she is a soccer star, playing both for the high school and an extracurricular league. She is also a member of the Nation Junior Honor Society. His Youngest daughter Lilly is in 2nd grade this year and is also in a gifted and talented program at school and is in dance. He is the backbone of his family and routinely worked 50-60 hour weeks to support them while still making sure to be present at games, graduations, ceremonies and recitals. Just this past May he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, and then in July we were rocked again when biopsies confirmed he had also developed colon cancer. He has a baffling array of symptoms that have required lots of testing and still has the Doctors scratching their heads to get to the bottom of them. The Doctors felt it best to go with a full prostate removal surgery, but before we could get to the originally scheduled surgery he became severely anemic and his platelet counts were so drastically low he had to postpone surgery for a 4 week series of transfusions. He was tested for Leukemia at this point but thank God that came back negative. He made it through all of these while still working over 40 hours a week. On the 21st (8/21/2023) He was able to go ahead with the prostate removal surgery. He made it through well and is now home resting. This was just the first stop on his journey back to health. He still is going to need lots of testing to make sure the prostate cancer is gone. He will need to go in on a 3 month schedule for colonoscopies to remove any cancerous growths in his colon. He has medical insurance but we all know how far that goes. He has already met his deductible and is now responsible for even larger out of pocket costs. As most of you can imagine the bills are piling up. Each colonoscopy will be approximately 900$ out of pocket. He has over 5k in bills from individual testing labs and 4k upfront costs for the surgery put on a Care credit and will have several more thousands in bills coming in from the recent surgery. We have been humbled by the outpouring of love and support. Many have asked how they could help and honestly our biggest challenge is the financial responsibility to these doctors, hospitals and testing facilities. If you can help in any way, the money will go directly to paying down the bills from testing and treatments. We know the economic state of things may make it difficult to contribute so if all you are able to do is pass it along or offer your well wishes, thoughts or prayers, those are very welcome. From behalf of the Day family. Thank you for taking the time to read about our situation. We pray for the researchers to find a cure, and for all those affected by cancer.
