Help Treena beat cancer

Hi from Team Treena!

I first met Treena in 1998, protesting uranium mining in the Northern Territory. Some of us have known her longer or met more recently- building community together or working for social justice. We are now connected through Treena, whose kindness, commitment to peace, passion for community and care for the Earth have made her a great inspiration, teacher, friend and co-conspirator!

We’ve all watched Treena work tirelessly to help build a better world for us all; now, Treena is in need of our support.

In November 2020, Treena was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) with metastases to the lymph nodes and a few other spots. She underwent aggressive chemotherapy for twenty weeks followed by surgery and radiotherapy.

She responded well to the chemo and up until March this year her follow-ups had been clear (CT scan, ultrasound & mammogram).

Sadly, in April her first PET scan since treatment revealed a reoccurrence of the cancer in numerous parts of her body.

Now, Treena needs to undergo further treatment to attack the cancer, stop its spread and, of course, maintain her general health, fitness and well-being.

Thanks to everyone's support so far, Treena has been able to consult with specialists and tailor a program that she feels comfortable with. Treena has re-started chemo, is undertaking a metabolic treatment that works alongside the chemo to starve, as well as kill, the cancer, has embarked on an immunotherapy program and is supporting all this with diet and health-boosting practices at home.

The treatments are exhausting and expensive. As she can no longer work, it is a struggle for Treena to pay for all the medications and ongoing appointments.

We want to make sure Treena has the best care possible!
