Help Tres Amigo Get A Home

Hi, my name is Becky. I have lived in Venice, FL for 5 years now. I am active on social media and a few years ago came across posts from Tres Amigo. From what I have been reading, he lost his home back in 2017 and has been living in his van ever since. He has two dogs, one of which he saved last year and was not able to find the owner. He does dog sitting and dog walking within the local community. Today I read his recent post and I could tell that living in his van with his two pups is really wearing on him. I could not imagine not having basic needs like electricity, running water, A/C, refrigerator, toilet, or a bed to sleep in each night. Most of us have a decent roof over our heads with all basic necessaties satisfied. Lets help this veteran who is a hard working, caring individual and animal lover find a better way to live!

This past Friday I had the honor of meeting Melvin in person. We met at the local Panera Bread to help with finishing the setup on his fundraiser. When he came to my table, I could already tell he was a character. He had to bring his pups with him, but left in his van with the A/C running. Melvin is a genuine guy who has such a good heart for other people and animals. I found out more information about his life and family during our meeting. He has a creative mind. Not only does he do dog exercising/pet sitting, one of his jobs was to be a sponsor for local businesses by putting a sign on his bike and riding it around town. He charged only $30 bucks a day!!!! He goes to church on Sunday’s and has volunteered at animal rescues when he has two pups of his own to take care of. He is even saving money for his grandchildren so they can go to college. Melvin is 76 years old and told me repeatedly how he knows that there are people worst off then him and he doesn’t feel deserving of all this attention. I reassured him that he is!

Melvin is a man that has been struggling for the last 5 years, due to no fault of his own. I challenge everyone to donate just $5.00 and share my post to their friends. Please imagine if you had a house and suddenly it was gone and did not have the resources to get another one??? What would you do???
