Help Trev and his Family

An innocent trip to the doctors to investigate some heart burn and difficulty swallowing, quickly turned into an unnerving diagnosis of advanced stage three esophageal cancer, which has spread inside the surrounding lymph nodes.
The PET scan has identified the tumour to be at the bottom of the esophagus where it meets the stomach, and is pressing against his aorta. Further imaging is required to determine if the surgeon is able to proceed with an operation to remove the tumour and surrounding lymph nodes, as the risks associated are life-threatening. The surgeon has advised Trev has a 20% chance of surviving, which both he and the family are determined to beat the odds.
Trev is a 52-year-old hard working, self-employed quality tradesman, an incredibly loving, selfless and loyal husband, father, grandpa and dear friend. A man who always puts other’s thoughts and needs ahead of his own, who now needs to do something very foreign to his nature, and focus on himself. The diagnosis has undeniably shaken Trev and his family to the core, however they are incredibly optimistic to beat this with the support of each other, extended family and friends.
It’s likely an aggressive course of chemotherapy will commence to see how the tumour responds to treatment. Due to the this, Trev will be unable to work for the foreseeable future. As a self-employed tradesman, the family will be living off one income during this difficult time. Your generous donations will go towards medical bills, operations, treatment and expenses to support the family and their home. Any amount, small or large, is incredibly appreciated to assist Trev in the long journey ahead.
