Help Trillium Bloom

20 months of fighting lung cancer that took my dad’s life showed me how overwhelmed our Mississauga hospitals are. Those tired, old buildings are full of amazing people working tirelessly on saving lives, curing diseases, comforting patients and making them comfortable. They deserve better and we deserve better. I know we can’t fix it all but it’s the little drops of water that end up making the ocean.

Broken call button, no blankets, no pillows, broken bathroom doors, broken wheelchairs, hallways filled with patients on stretchers, days of waiting for available beds, these are just some of the things we experienced. Patient lying under a sign printed on a piece of paper and taped on the wall reading “Hallway #3” almost broke my heart. Nobody should be lying in the hospital in a place called Hallway #3.
