Help Twila Freeman Beat Uterine Cancer!

Hi there — my name is Mykael, and I started this GoFundMe to help my good friend Twila Freeman fight uterine cancer. I met Twila in 2018 when we became coworkers, and it wasn’t long before I saw what a caring and uplifting person she is. She’s always been one of the first to offer help whenever I’ve needed it, regardless of her own financial situation. My hope is that this fundraiser will take away any monetary worries she has so she can focus on healing.

Money is a concern for most of us in the current economic climate, but finances are especially tight for Twila and her family of three, for which she is the sole breadwinner. Her husband Mike has been on disability since 2017 and is unable to work, and her daughter Tori also lives at home. On top of this, the Freemans’ car recently gave out, forcing them to buy another shortly before Twila’s diagnosis — adding car payments to the family’s expenses.

Despite being in pain, Twila hasn’t missed a day of work since she got sick — even going in to work afterward on days she was scheduled for diagnostic tests. As her pain is gradually worsening — getting up and down from her office chair is becoming a painful challenge — she is growing concerned about her ability to continue consistently working.

In the face of her diagnosis, Twila remains hopeful and unafraid — her trust in God and the support of her family are driving forces in her life. Twila is a woman of incredible faith, and her example is one that many people of conviction could stand to learn from —she joyfully shares her love for God with those around her in a way that is gentle, positive, and never judgmental.

Twila’s Story

In October, Twila began to notice unusual bleeding and wasn’t able to see her gynecologist until November 21st. Shortly before Thanksgiving, two ultrasounds showed a mass on her uterus. In the following weeks, a biopsy and an MRI confirmed that the mass, which is about the same size as her uterus, is cancerous. Twila is scheduled for an appointment with a surgeon on December 20th — she’ll have more information about her treatment plan at that time.
