Help Twin Babies and Family Rebuild After the Eaton Fire
Donation protected
Hello everyone, my name is Mackenzie and I’m reaching out on behalf of my cousin, Whitney, and her husband, Farisai, who lost everything in the recent Eaton Fire sweeping through Altadena. They are parents to adorable three-month-old twin babies who need our help to start rebuilding their lives from scratch.
My Relationship to Those in Need
My cousin and her husband are not only beloved family members but also new parents to twin babies who are only three months old. They moved into a rental home in Altadena last November, excited to begin a new chapter. Tragically, the Eaton Fire destroyed that home, taking all of their belongings and baby essentials.
The Unexpected Insurance Issue
My cousin and her husband had previously been covered by State Farm, but their fire insurance was canceled when State Farm stopped offering coverage in their area. They were in the process of securing a new policy, but before they could finalize it, the fire struck. Now, they have no insurance safety net to fall back on.
How the Funds Will Be Spent
Every penny of your generous donations will go directly to helping them get back on their feet by covering:
1. Temporary Housing & Relocation
- Paying for safe and stable lodging until they can find a new home.
- Deposits and initial costs for securing a more permanent place to live.
2. Immediate Baby Essentials
- Diapers, formula, and bottles.
- Clothing, blankets, and other day-to-day necessities for the newborn twins.
- Replacing car seats, strollers, and cribs that were lost in the fire.
3. Replacing Essential Household Items
- Basic furniture (beds, dressers, a place to put baby items).
- Kitchenware and appliances needed for day-to-day living.
- Personal items such as clothing, toiletries, and electronics.
4. Medical & Health-related Needs
- Covering any medical expenses for the babies’ check-ups and care.
- Ensuring access to healthcare appointments and prescriptions they might need.
5. Rebuilding & Recovery Costs
- Purchasing necessary tools and supplies to move back toward normalcy.
- Helping offset lost wages if they need time off work to rebuild and care for the babies.
Your Kindness Makes a Difference
Losing a home is devastating under any circumstance, but the added urgency of caring for two newborns amplifies the need for immediate assistance. Your donations will give my cousin and her husband a chance to stabilize their situation and ensure the twins’ well-being in this challenging time.
If you can’t contribute financially, please consider sharing this GoFundMe campaign with your network. Every share can help us reach someone who may be able to help.
From the bottom of my heart—and on behalf of my cousin’s family—thank you for any and all support. Together, we can help them rebuild their lives and focus on what truly matters: keeping their babies safe, healthy, and loved.
With gratitude,
Mackenzie, on behalf of my cousin’s family
