Help Two Birds bring back Apocalypse Play!
Donation protected
We are Kate Lushington and Natasha Greenblatt, real-life mother/daughter feminist theatre makers developing a show that addresses urgent concerns about the future. We are asking for your help to offset the costs of presenting FREE outdoor theatre while paying artists a living wage for their work.
Apocalypse Play, or Bundle of Joy is a “funny, thoughtful, painful and engrossing” show about motherhood, art and activism… and this year’s production has a twist. Last year, Natasha was grappling with whether or not to have a child in the face of climate change and pandemic instability… this year she’s seven and half months pregnant and the world has only gotten more terrifying. How do we hold onto hope for our collective future when apocalyptic fears loom within our bodies? And will there be dancing?
Two Birds Theatre is partnering with Common Boots Theatre to present Apocalypse Play in beautiful Hillcrest Park this September 8th-18th. And because the revolution cannot happen without childcare, we have partnered with Balancing Act and Theatre Direct to offer FREE onsite childcare with arts animated workshops!
Unfortunately, as we stumble our way back to live theatre, many worthwhile productions did not receive their anticipated arts council grants… and we were one of them. We are asking for your help to offset our budget shortfall of $3,000. Can you help by donating a small (or large) amount to our campaign?
For anyone who donates before September the 8th, we will reserve two seats for the performance of your choice. If you cannot attend in person, your contribution will entitle you to be the first to access any digital version we create.
Finally, if you would prefer to receive a charitable receipt, you could also send your donation through Common Boots Theatre, with a note that it is designated for this play. If so, please let us know so we can list you as a Two Birds Supporter and guarantee your seat!
