Help Two Friends Rebuild After Devastating RV Fire

Donation protected
Sometimes life delivers a blow so heavy, it takes a village to help lift the weight.

Yesterday’s RV fire at the Lacey Value Village was devastating for Jeremy, the owner of the RV, and devastating too for his friend Michael.

While Jeremy was working, Michael was preparing a meal. Witnesses heard a boom, and suddenly the RV was engulfed in flames.

Michael was able to save Jeremy’s dog, Bae. But Michael’s beloved dog, Teaka, a miniature Australian shepherd who had been his loyal friend through thick and thin, and Jeremy’s cat, Creamsicle, a Flame Point Siamese, perished in the fire. Both animals were more than pets—they were family, emotional anchors, and sources of daily joy.

In addition to his beloved cat, Jeremy lost everything he owned, apart from his truck and the clothes he was wearing at the time. He lost mechanics tools, computer equipment, family photos, personal documents, his mother’s artwork and poetry, and more.

In addition to his beloved dog, Michael lost everything he owned, including all the horse shoeing tools he uses to earn money as a farrier.

The city of Lacey generously provided three nights’ lodging at a local hotel to help them cope with this devastating loss. After that, each man is facing homelessness.

These men need to recover their livelihoods, to regain their tools to make a living, and each man will be seeking a new place to live. Adding to their burden is the heartbreaking grief each of them is now suffering.

This fundraiser will help them:

* Replace critical horse shoeing equipment and mechanics tools so they can return to work;
* Cover temporary housing and emergency living expenses;
* Begin the healing process while honoring the memory of their beloved pets.

Every contribution—no matter the size—will make a real and immediate impact. If you’ve ever known the pain of sudden loss or the fear of starting over, then you know how vital community support can be.

Let’s help these men grieve, regroup, and rebuild. They’ve given so much of themselves to their work, their community, and their animals. Now it’s our turn to give back.

Please donate if you can, and share their story. Hope and healing begin with kindness.
