Help Two Graces Relocate!

Donation protected
My husband, Robert Cafazzo, opened our shop, Two Graces, in October 2003. He uses his skills as a collector, historian, artist, and salesman to make our place a unique and successful shop. People who find us love our selection of used and rare books on the Southwest (recently chosen as one of the 5 best bookstores in New Mexico!), and our carefully curated collections of locally sourced objects. We also feature authentic Hopi Kachinas, vintage jewelry, and Northern New Mexican folk art, and our own paintings. We are currently housed in a beautiful adobe building right next to the San Francisco de Asis Church, one of the oldest and most photographed churches in the world.

Within the last few months our rent has been raised, the building is for sale, and there is an interested buyer. In January the building was severely damaged by burst pipes and heavy snow. The damage is reparable, but the process will take months, involving expensive and messy work. Meanwhile we’ve lost 15% of our space due to the damage.

We need to relocate. Available spaces we’ve looked at are very expensive, and we thought we might have to close the store temporarily until we find a place that will work for us. Luckily, we’ve been offered a promising shopfront in downtown Taos with a reasonable rent. The new place is on Kit Carson Road, a great location! We’ll be much more central for local shoppers and visitors to Taos alike. We’ll be able to be more involved in and to contribute to this community that we love and chose to become a part of.

We need to raise $15,000. If you are able to help us in our fundraising efforts, we thank you, every one of you, and any donation—whether it be $10 or $10000—will be extremely appreciated. Funds will be used for licensing and inspection fees, store signage, updated counter displays, updated point of sale equipment, security deposits for the building space, advertising, a reliable vehicle, and decorating and lighting costs. We are planning to re-open in May 1, 2019.

In return for your contribution we will maintain a list of who you are and send you an offer sheet from which you can select from a variety of gifts. Some of these will include a historic tour of Taos, a small work of art and/or a generous store discount coupon.

Thank you very very much!

Holly and Robert
