Help Two Kids Whose Mom Just Died in Guatemala

We need your help to take care of two kids who just lost their mom in Guatemala. Lili was an amazing woman who unexpectedly died this last week at the age of 50 due to a complication from the treatment she was receiving for cancer. She had bravely faced many months of chemotherapy and radiation and the cancer treatment was working well, but she recently developed a clot in her leg that ultimately led to her death when the clot moved unexpectedly to her lungs, heart, or brain.

Lili was a beloved part of UPAVIM (Unidas Para Vivir Mejor) a Fair-Trade women's cooperative (www.upavim.org) where she had been a member for decades. She was so well-liked and respected that she had recently been elected president of the 65-member cooperative. Lili was an incredibly brave woman who overcame so much in her life including the death of two husbands from violence. She always had a smile on her face and was always thinking of others. She served in the bakery and as a seamstress before becoming President this last year.

Lili was a single mother who was caring for two children that needed her greatly. Her son is developmentally disabled due to complications from epilepsy and her daughter also has medical issues that will continue to require treatment and costly supplies. The cooperative is stepping up to help how they can, but they need our help to cover costly school and medical needs. These kids need our help and it is a wonderful way to honor Lili's memory-who was always helping others.
