Help two migrant trans women pay their university tuition

Hello everyone, we are Alejandra and Natsumi, two migrant trans women living in The Netherlands. We are members of Papaya Kuir, a trans-lesbo-feminist collective made up of migrant and refugee artists and activists from Latin America in The Netherlands.

Recently we were accepted by The Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam, to be part of their Lumbung Practice master’s program. We are now raising funds to pay the first year tuition which amounts to 3030 Euros for each of us two (thus 6060).

For both of us this is an amazing opportunity to be able to have access to formal education, an opportunity that due to different factors (transphobia being one of them), we were not able to have before. With this master we aim to increase our education, skills and networking capacity, as well as to learn better ways to contribute to the development of our communities and society at large.

This is a great step for us, but also a huge step for the communities where we come from. By accessing university level education, we can show others like us that progress and furthering of one's future is reachable. Further, we see this also as a good opportunity for academia to connect with people from communities that have been historically relegated.

Please help us achieve our dream.

Thank you

Alejandra, Natsumi and the Papaya Kuir family
