Help Two Sons Lay Their Father To Rest

Donation protected
Kofi Addo lived a remarkable life of humility and dedication to his two sons Hubert and Herbert Addo. Having arrived in the United States from Ghana in 2006 with two young boys in town, Kofi worked tirelessly as both a bus driver by day and a taxi driver by night. Propelled by a vision that burned brightly within (to witness his two sons graduate from college) he battled through the fatigue and carried on every day with a smile. He served a community of people in need of a friendly smile or a listening ear during their commute. Kofi believed in the power of education and his commitment to his sons’ success knew no bounds. On his rare days off, he would spend quality time with his sons, encouraging their dreams and nurturing their talents.

Tragically, Kofi Addo’s journey to see his sons graduate high school and college was cut short on May 11, 2023. Kofi was the victim of a heartbreaking murder, leaving behind an unfinished legacy and unfulfilled dreams. His sons are now left with a void in their hearts that may never be filled. In order to honor their father and his legacy, Hubert and Herbert would like to respectfully lay their father to rest in his native Ghana. The expenses of fulfilling such a wish are beyond what these two young men can afford on their own.

Please consider a donation to help defer the costs of Kofi’s final journey to his homeland. Your generosity will help these young men with the cost of the funeral home, airline travel, and other associated expenses. Additionally, Hubert and Herbert will strive to honor their father’s legacy by committing to a future their father would be proud of. Hubert will be finishing his final year at Kean University with a degree in Criminal Justice. Herbert will graduate from North Brunswick Township high school in June of 2023 and carve a path towards a future set in motion by the opportunities his father provided. These young men are in need of the support of the community their father served and believed would bring his sons the greatest chances of a bright and beautiful future.
