Help Two Talented Animators Rebuild After the Eaton Fire
Donation protected
Aloha friends and family,
Yesterday, our cousin Traci (my dad's brother's only daughter) and her husband Erik lost everything to the devastating Eaton Fire. This was especially heartbreaking as they also suffered tragic losses, with my uncle (Traci's dad) passing a year and a half ago, and Erik's mom passing last month.
Within hours of evacuating, Traci and Erik , a husband-and-wife animation team, learned that their home and neighborhood had succumbed to the fires. As the fire spread in Altadena, it claimed not only their cherished memories, but also the tools of their creative livelihood. For years, they’ve brought joy and inspiration to the world through their art, and now my sister Syndee, my brother Bryson, and our cousin Lia are asking for your support to help them rebuild.
We are grateful that Erik, Traci, and their bird Gallifrey were able to safely escape on the evening of January 7th; however, their journey forward is just beginning.
Traci and Erik would like to add that while they know they’ve lost cherished items and memories, the path forward begins with rebuilding their studio and office. Erik has lost all of his sketchbooks, traditional drawings and paintings from the last 20 years, and both have lost their entire collection of animation drawings, resources and art books. Traci is a storyboarder and director whose credits include Bojack Horseman, South Park, Tiny Toons and King of the Hill. Erik Martin is a designer and art director, he has worked on Rick and Morty, Solar Opposites and Scooby Doo.
All funds raised will help them replace essential belongings, rebuild their home, replace critical animation equipment (which will enable them to continue working), and restore their ability to create the art that has touched so many lives.
Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference in helping this resilient couple start anew. If you are not able donate, please consider sharing this campaign widely.
Mahalo (thank you) in advance for joining Syndee, Bryson, Lia, and I in supporting Erik and Traci as they rebuild the memories, love, and laughter that once filled their home.
*We are grateful for the GoFundMe platform; however, please note that a small fee is deducted from all donations. If you prefer, you are welcome to Venmo them directly at
