Help Twyla Get A New KidneySurgeryAftercare
Twyla Huggins-Bruce, a loving wife and mother of three, is in need of a new kidney. As you may very well know, the surgery and aftercare treatments are very costly.
A kidney transplant can cost $260,000 or more total for the pre-transplant screening, donor matching, surgery, post surgical care and first six months of drugs. Afterward, it costs about $17,000 per year for anti-rejection drugs, according to the University of Texas MD Anderson Medical Center.
Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse as the situation became critical in February 2021. Therefore, due to the urgency, less than 25% of the total cost is needed to get the ball rolling.
Any amount of monetary donation will be greatly appreciated, but there are other ways to help also. If you are interested in donating, being a match (her blood type is A+) isn't necessary. There is a swap program (if you're willing to be a candidate). It means, you may be a match for someone on the national registry and their donor may be a match for Twyla.
Thanks and Godspeed!
