Help Tyjuan Edwards through Severe Health Issue
Donation protected
Tyjuan (Top50) Edwards, a Fiji brother, was diagnosed with diverticulitis causing a portion of his colon to burst, leaking infected fluid into his abdomen (Peritonitis). This life-threatening condition has caused Tyjuan to undergo two surgeries (October and November) where doctors removed the infection and diverted his colon. Tyjuan will also require two more surgeries in January and February to finish the repair of his colon and the other infected areas. Since October, Tyjuan has spent almost 2 months in the hospital and has lost over 30 pounds. Doctors pushed surgery back once already because he is having trouble gaining back the weight. Tyjuan has been unable to work since the onset of the symptoms back in October and is limited in what he can do until the healing process is over. Being unable to work, Tyjuan has been under great financial pressure from rent, living expenses, extra food expenses, and now medical expenses. Tyjuan, a Fiji brother since the Spring of 09', an employee at The Lab School, and Top 50 in the world, has been a positive figure in our fraternity for over a decade. We ask for the support of his fellow Fiji brothers and the UChicago community to help Top get through this unprecedented time. Please consider donating to this fund as it will go directly to supporting Tyjuan's living and medical expenses, allowing him to focus on healing from this traumatic diagnosis.
Please also send this to anyone who may know Tyjuan or be able to help. Any support is greatly appreciated by Phi Gamma Delta and by Tyjuan and his family.
