Help Uche Move to Chicago

Hey everyone, My name is Uche! I am a recent Towson University grad, a cultural worker, a community caretaker, an educator, and a hairstylist by trade.

If you know me personally, then you know how much I've been devoted to radical popular education, freedom schooling, and working with youth. As a result, I've recently been offered a position to join the Chicago Freedom School team as a Training Coordinator!! I'm over the moon to begin this chapter of my life in a new location, continuing to do work that I've been doing for years now.

But to jumpstart this big transition, I need the help of my community because I've (unfortunately) had the burden of working 2+ jobs at a time while attending school full time *just* to pay my rent, put gas in my car, and keep some groceries in my fridge. I've worked so hard the past few years but so much of my labor has been solely for survival.

So, I'm raising funds to help me move to Chicago, Illinois!

With flight prices, gas prices, rent costs, and grocery costs increasing– these funds will help me comfortably pay for my travel to Chicago and help me comfortably adjust to a new apartment, and get on my feet as I start my position with Chicago Freedom School.

This is such a difficult ask considering that I know funds are tight for everyone nowadays. So this ask is especially directed to those who have the means to contribute. And if you cant contribute, share with your friends, group chats, colleagues, and social media pages. Anything helps, and I sincerely appreciate you for even reading this write-up.
