Help Ukrainian Refugees Rebuild

Hello! My name is Anna van Huystee (Heath) and I have created this gofundme on behalf of my brother.

My brother Kris, his wife Katya, and their son Dima recently made the heartbreaking and difficult decision to flee their home in Kyiv and seek safety in Poland after Putin unleashed war on Ukraine. They left with the clothes on their backs, their cat, dog, and their work computers. Thankfully, they are safe now and have plenty of wonderful people surrounding them to help get them back on their feet.

Unfortunately there are thousands and thousands of families that are not so lucky. Because of their situation and ability to help, my brother and his wife have decided to take it upon themselves to help their friends and colleagues, mostly women and children, who are still in Ukraine trying to seek refuge in Poland, and also those whom they have already helped make it safely into Poland. At this time they have already helped 78 people leave Ukraine and arrive in Poland safely.

Ukrainian men ages 18-60 are not able to leave the country as they are required to stay and fight. This is leaving women and children with no choice but to flee to safety in surrounding countries without their husbands. My brother wants to make sure that the people he is helping evacuate have everything they need to get back on their feet when they arrive.

Imagine coming into a new country with truly nothing but a suitcase, your child(ren), and possibly a pet or pets. They need food, toiletries, clothing, phones/SIM cards, housing, etc. My brother will use all funds raised on this page to directly purchase all of these necessities for the refugees in need, as well as to assist with housing costs for them.

All funds raised will be safely wire transferred to a charity account that my brother has set up overseas. We will provide updates, proof of funds use, etc throughout the entire process. My brother wants to help as many people as he possibly can, now that he is safe and able. All leftover funds will be donated to a charity directly serving Ukrainian refugees.
