Help Ukrainian Refugees Restart their Life in USA

Hi, my name is Tanya Bondarenko, and I am trying to raise funds and help the refugee family my husband and I took in who fled the war in Ukraine to restart their entire life here in the States.

 

I met the Lysenko Family for the first time on Tuesday, April 15th. My husband knew Vitaly (the husband and dad) from childhood. He hadn't seen him for about 20 years, and Vitaly called us from the Poland border/camp and asked if we could take them in. They have a 7-year-old daughter and a 10-month baby. My heart hurt when I heard the baby crying and could imagine what he had suffered through by fleeing war as I am a mama of two little boys. My husband and I decided to take them into our home, but we are asking for help to set up their life in the USA. They have absolutely nothing! The 5 of them came with a backpack each. I travel with more things when I fly somewhere with my kids. I can't even imagine leaving everything to go to the unknown like this. I am so thankful for all the people who brought clothing, diapers, car seats, high chair, toiletries, etc. As we know, to get around anywhere in the US, you need a vehicle. I am trying to raise money to get them a car, car insurance and maybe first month's rent when they find a place.

 

If you or someone you know is selling a budget vehicle in good condition, please let me know. We are actively looking and really would like to have something for them asap.
